ABOUT ME

I consider myself a storyteller first. I love shaping the weave of a story - experimenting with structure, rhythm, and perspective to find the version that resonates most deeply with an audience.I’m originally from Maryland and began my career while studying at Goucher College, interning at a local news station. During my first week, the events of the September 11 attacks unfolded, and I found myself witnessing history from inside a working newsroom. I quickly learned every role I could - operating studio cameras, teleprompter and graphics, mixing audio, and managing tapes for live broadcasts - while gravitating toward the edit bays during breaks. After graduating, I was hired as an editor, cutting both feature stories and daily news content. Surrounded by award-winning journalists, I developed the speed and storytelling instincts that continue to shape my work today.A few years later, I transitioned into documentary, joining the Random 1 series for A&E, where I began a long-standing collaboration with director John Chester. Over the next two decades, I worked across documentaries and commercial post-production in the DC area.In 2017, I moved to California with my young family to work on my fourth project with John Chester, this time on The Biggest Little Farm where he was not only the director, but also the farmer! With the series that followed, I stepped into the role of Co-Executive Producer and Supervising Editor, discovering that my passion for storytelling extends beyond the hands-on editing itself. I found deep fulfillment in guiding other editors, shaping story arcs across a series, and developing systems for tracking complex narratives.Today, I continue to spend much of my time in the edit chair, collaborating on documentary projects with companies including The Kennedy/Marshall Company, White Horse Productions, and FarmLore Films. I primarily work remotely from Ventura County.I live in Moorpark, CA with my husband, two daughters, and our foxhound. Outside of work, I enjoy travel, time in nature, and exploring family genealogy.I’m always open to connecting, collaborating, or supporting projects and editors in a consulting or mentoring capacity.
